Inspired by Margaret Atwood's The Penelopiad, this Bard College Senior Project explores the story of the women in Homer's Odyssey: Penelope and her 12 maids. Penelope's maids get approximately 2 pages in the entire Odyssey, during which they are brutally murdered. This play tells the story of these murdered and forgotten women from classical literature.
